The Internet Public Library now over 10 years old, is sponsored by the School of Information at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.  This is a fabulous library site giving you all the references you would find in a leading University but on the web.  It is particularly impressive to easily locate and read most any newspaper in the world on line.  It is no wonder newspaper print circulations continue to decline.

The American Medical Association
This is a great site for information about physicians. It can verify medical School and year of graduation. In addition, you can research their credentials. All physicians should be listed.

The American Board
This is a great site to verify board certification. The site is run by the American Board of Medical Specialties. All board certified specialist nationwide are listed.

Administrators in Medicine
This site is run by Administrators in Medicine, a group of state medical board executive directors. This is discipline information on open investigations. Their are fourteen states included (not VA or DC). You can also get information through the state medical boards.

The American College of OB/GYN
This is a great site for information about OB/GYN physicians. There is also good information on issues related to women.

MedLine
This is a great site for research. In this site you can search The National Library of Medicine. With a little bit of effort, you can become an expert on one small area of medicine.

The Mayo Clinic
This is a great site for general medical information. Check out the Mayo Clinic's Complete Book of Pregnancy and Baby's First Year on line.

The is an excellent source of information for emergency birth control when the condom breaks or you just did not use pregnancy protection. We are providers of the emergency service. Office appointments are required for new patients and they will be made within 24 hours usually the same day.

On this specific link on women.com, Mary Jane Minkin, MD, a board-certified obstetrician/gynecologist in private practice in New Haven, CT and a clinical professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Yale University School of Medicine, provides insight into health questions.

National Women's Health Resource Center
Not-for-Profit resource for women's health. This organization is a clearing house for information about women's health.

Medscape offers specialists, primary care physicians, and other health professionals the Web's most robust and integrated multi-specialty medical information and education tool. The site is edited by George Lundberg who was the past editor the AMA Journal.
